
Stop Waiting for Your Oven to Warm Up
Nobody likes standing around waiting for a commercial oven to hit the right temperature. It’s a waste of time, a waste of electricity, and a total pain when you’ve got a line of hungry customers out the door. That’s why we use short-wave infrared (SWIR) halogen quartz tubes. Instead of trying to heat up all the air inside the oven first, these tubes beam energy straight into the food. It’s direct. It’s fast.
How it actually works
Inside each tube, there’s a tungsten filament wrapped in high-purity quartz and packed with a special halogen gas. Here’s the trick: that gas lets the filament get way hotter than usual without burning out. This creates a massive burst of heat density. You aren’t waiting minutes for a preheat anymore. You’re talking seconds.
Built to take a beating
Kitchens are brutal. We use fused quartz because it can handle “thermal shock.” You can blast it with intense heat and then hit it with a cooling cycle, and the glass won’t crack. Plus, the halogen cycle constantly scrubs the inside of the tube. It stops the tungsten from clouding up the glass, so the heat keeps hitting your food just as hard on day 100 as it did on day one. And if you’re worried about installation? Don’t be. We use standard connectors, so these just slide right into your existing gear—whether it’s a conveyor broiler or a high-speed toaster.
A couple of things to keep in mind
Now, putting this much power into such a small space creates some serious heat. Because the energy is so intense, your reflectors have to be on point. We recommend gold-plated or high-polish aluminum to bounce that IR energy downward. If your reflectors get greasy or start to oxidize, you’ll lose efficiency, and the tubes might burn out early because the heat has nowhere to go. Just make sure your vents are up to the task, because the air around the oven is going to heat up fast.
